I will refer to other providers:
Tongue/lip ties: Most lactation professionals, are not able to diagnose ties unless otherwise credentialed. I will refer you to a provider who can diagnose a suspected tie. I will help you with positioning and latch, which can greatly increase your comfort.
Supplements: I do not prescribe, advise, or recommend any kind of medication or herbal supplement to increase or help production. I can discuss evidence-based research/studies about medication/supplements and lactation, as well as refer you to other resources to find out more.
Medical issues: If there is a suspected medical condition or illness, I will direct you to your provider as it is out of my scope of practice.
As a certified lactation care provider, I follow the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice Scope of Practice for Certified Lactation Counselors, and abide by the CLC Code of Ethics.
I have had my competency verified by the Center for Breastfeeding staff.
Questions about the difference between a CLC and IBCLC?

From the Center for Breastfeeding:
The Certified Lactation Counselor® (CLC) certification is the premier National Certification in Lactation Management in the United States. LCTC and CLC exam certification holders have demonstrated competence in the lactation skills, knowledge and attitudes that are essential to helping women and have agreed to comply with The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice code of ethics.
"The CLC certification means that a person has received training and competency verification in breastfeeding and human lactation support, including assessing the latching and feeding process, providing corrective interventions, counseling mothers, understanding and applying knowledge of milk production including in special circumstances and other commonly encountered situations."
